Everything you need to know about planned road improvement works on Marlowe Avenue and Greenbridge Road from April.
From the start of April, through to November 2021, Mi-space, Oakfield’s construction partner will be carrying out some works to make improvements to the roads around the site. This work is planned to take place around the school holidays to cause as little disruption to the local community as possible.
Around the Easter holidays, a section of Marlowe Avenue (highlighted in red) will be closed with a diversion route in place (marked in green). These works are taking place so that drainage for the new homes can be installed and a roundabout can be built to open Oakfield up to the surrounding community.
Toward the end of April, some two-way lights will be set up on Greenbridge Road (to the left of the site). This is so that resurfacing can take place and gulleys can be installed, which will help with water drainage in the area.
Mi-space will be making sure that the diversions are clearly marked and if you’re a local resident please be assured that you’ll have safe and escorted access to your home throughout the works.
The site’s opening hours will remain as 7:30am to 5:30pm.
There are some other dates throughout 2021 that Marlowe Avenue will need to be closed or traffic lights put in place. While exact dates may move slightly, here are some approximate dates that works will be taking place.
These works will result in better roads, pavements, cycle paths and footpaths for everyone travelling through the area.
