Right now, it’s more important than ever to help people reduce their energy bills and, at Oakfield, we’ve incorporated features into our homes to do just that. So, what makes your new home more efficient?

Your home has been built with a real focus on efficiency. It has an EPC A rating, solar panels to generate electricity and is heated by air source heat pumps instead of gas. Each home has parking for one or two cars, while the streets have been designed to prioritise pedestrians and cyclists. Many of our homes come pre-wired if you’d like to install an electric car charger, plus we’re also looking at getting a car-club on site, so you can always borrow a car if you need one.

Right on your doorstep

You’ll find Oakfield in east Swindon, close to shops, restaurants and lots of green space. Swindon’s railway station is just two miles away and you can get to London in under an hour. There’s also easy access to the A419, A420 and the Cotswolds.

Well-connected cycle and bus routes mean you can easily get to other neighbourhoods and the town centre, too. Greenbridge Retail Park is just around the corner from Oakfield, where you’ll find a supermarket, pharmacy, clothes shops and much more. And with the town centre and the Designer Outlet Village less than two miles away, popping to the shops couldn’t be easier.

As well as all the shops you’ll find at Greenbridge Retail Park, there’s also a gym, swimming pool and places to eat. With plenty of free parking, it’s perfect for a weeknight treat, a Saturday night out, or popping for a workout on your lunchbreak. You’ll find lots of green space within Oakfield itself, but you don’t have to go far to find even more. Right here in Swindon you’ll find the lovely lakes of Coate Water, the huge gardens of Lydiard Park, and the beautiful blooms in Town Gardens.

Oakfield’s streets have been designed to encourage cars to drive slowly and to prioritise pedestrians and cyclists. This means there is secure cycle storage in rear gardens, with capacity for garden equipment as well.
